English helps us to widen our thoughts. Through conversation with people from other countries or international media, when you understand English, you get much more information. The more information you can get, the better you can understand the situation and find a solution to it. Therefore, learning English is not only about acquiring a new language or increasing opportunities for the future. We, at Little Birds’ Preschool, provide children with a proper environment to study English and encourage them to expand their thoughts.
Little Birds’ Preschool focuses on communication skills. The advantage of English language is the important number of English speakers worldwide. However, this also makes communication more complicated. How to succeed in an English-speaking environment is more important than only knowing English.
Interactive communication is a necessity. Imposing one’s opinion is not the way to get ahead in other countries. It is important to be confident and proud of our Japanese and Asian culture, however, the most essential point is to be open to each other, to figure out the differences from our ways of thinking, and from this observation, to find a way to understand each other.
Our mission is to encourage children to use English as a tool, to keep their identity as Japanese citizens, to have confidence, to open their minds to others and to have the ability to convey their opinion properly. For children’s future and better relationship, Little Birds’ Preschool fosters children’s “Independence”, “Curiosity” and “Respect”, providing what they will need to bravely succeed in our world.
